4 Multiplayer Games you need to Play with Your Friends

We all love a good story-based single-player game.

But some experiences are best shared with a buddy, and that’s where multiplayer games come in. However, you must understand the difference between some of the different types.

Multiplayer games include a multitude of games, and in these, you can play in online lobbies where there are lots of other people as well. However, in the case of co-op games, it’s just you and one more friend, and you have to work your way towards a shared goal.

Regardless of the type of game. Both kinds of games have one thing in common, though: the need for an active internet connection so that the gaming process is as seamless as possible and there is little to no lag.

In that case, I recommend that you use a WOW internet connection. Why? Well, they offer symmetrical speeds that go up to 3 Gbps, which is perfect for not only downloading games, but also playing online. And there are no data caps, which means you’ll never have to worry about going over the limit.

If you reach out to WOW customer service, you can learn more about their fiber internet plans and pricing. Now, coming back to multiplayer and co-op games, here are some that you should definitely check out with your friends.

Split Fiction

The first among my recommendations is the co-op game Split Fiction created by Hazelight Studios.

In this game, there are two protagonists, Mio and Zoe, who are both struggling novelists trying to make their way to becoming successful authors.

They go to a company called Rader Publishing, which is experimenting on authors to extract stories from them by placing them in pods, but in a situation of panic, Mio (a sci-fi writer) and Zoe (a fantasy novelist) end up in the same pod.

Then begins their adventure as they try to escape the pod while they are stuck in the imaginations of their own stories.

The best part of the game is that both of you have to work together to solve puzzles, which makes the game even more interesting. You can play the game on a PC and a console, or better yet, both of you can play on the same device as well.

It Takes Two

From the same studios that created Split Fiction, you can also play It Takes Two, but I would recommend playing this with your significant other since the game is very couple-centric.

You get to play as two characters, Cody and May, who are about to go through a divorce, until their daughter’s wish turns them into miniature dolls who have to work together to go back to normal.

The motive throughout the game is to keep love alive, which is why Cody and May always have to work together by literally going through obstacles. In fact, you will be happy to know that the game was so great that it won the Game of the Year award.

A Way Out

It would have been a crime mentioning Split Fiction, and It Takes Two, and not adding A Way Out, which is yet another game by Hazelight Studios. However, this one is relatively old, which is why it seems a bit wonky, but still, the game is great enough to be enjoyed with friends.

Just like other Hazelight games, you have the option to play the game online or through co-op on the same device.

I would recommend that you play the game on one device so that you and your friend can make the most out of the experience.

The game revolves around two convicts, Leo and Vincent, who work together to try to escape prison. In an amazing turn of events, both of you are up for a plot twist of a lifetime, so make sure that you and your friend play this one as soon as possible.

Arc Raiders

This list would have been incomplete without the best multiplayer game of 2025, which is Arc Raiders.

The game is the perfect culmination of shooting and tech, which makes it very interesting and competitive to play. You are up against human opponents and AI-powered robots that you need to fight to progress through.

Some opponents give you a tough time, so you need to make sure you are as patient as possible.

While you can play the game alone as well by joining randomized lobbies, I recommend that you play it with a group of friends so that both of you can make the most out of the experience.

So, there you have it. These were some of the best games that you should play with your friends, so that all of you get to experience how amazing it is to play together.
