The Ultimate Ranking –

Playing AP poke champions has never felt better than now that the new Crown item has arrived on the Rift.

So, grab your protractor and get ready to play some Vel’Koz.

And if we’re going to make assassins pay for their crimes, we may as well look nice doing it.

So I went through all of Vel’Koz’s skins and ranked them all here, taking into account their features, general attractiveness, and price range.

5. Vel’Koz Battlecast

Battlecast Vel’Koz Skin Splash Image from League of LegendsRiot Games is responsible for this image.

Date of Publication: February 27th, 2014 1350 RP is the price.

This is the original Vel’Koz skin, thus it feels horrible to put it last. My tentacles, on the other hand, are tethered.

By any measure of the imagination, it’s not an awful skin.

There are a few tiny elements that I don’t care for. Specifically, the character model.

Although a modern look would be thematically perfect for Vel’Koz, I believe this skin stripped him of too much of his previous individuality.

I no longer feel like an alien eyeball set on learning via extermination, but rather like a random robot NPC in a simple sci-fi game.

The form is a little clumsy, and the eye isn’t as prominent as it is in other skins.

In fact, this is the only Vel’Koz skin that entirely modifies your death animation, and instead of your regular “eyeball flying away,” you break down.

I think I’m concentrating too much on the eyeball…

When it comes to advantages, the Q is really exceptional, since it is the only skin that completely transforms it. The jetpacks flare up when you use your ult, for example, truly bring this skin to life.

Overall, this is a good skin, but it’s not my favorite of the group.

4. Vel’Koz of Blackfrost

On April 15th, 2021, the film will be released. 1350 RP is the price.

We’ve covered the oldest, and now it’s time to discuss the newest Vel’Koz skin.

Let’s start with the good.

The character model has an old being aura that is ideal for our tentacle guy. I almost feel like I’m learning about League mythology since your background animation is so strangely mysterious.

As you knock up your opponent, your E has a brand new effect in which genuine icicles come out of the ground.

For those of you that like chroma, it’s worth noting that this skin offers both the largest assortment and some of the best designs.

Obsidian appeals to my core nature.

And, if that wasn’t enough to pique your interest, I’ll also mention that this is THE skin for Aram players, since your blue particles will blend in beautifully with the backdrop.

So, what are the disadvantages?

If I’m being honest, there aren’t any. When it comes to quality, most of Vel’Koz’s skins are on par – I only included one since I don’t like for the ice motif on him.

3. Vel’Koz Is Definitely Not

Published on March 31st, 2016 The cost is 750 RP.

Apart from the fact that it’s amusing, there’s not much to say about this skin.

One of my all-time favorite skin lines has always been Definitely Not. Vel’Koz also fits in far better than I had anticipated.

For starters, the fact that he’s wearing a pair of single-lens spectacles is hilarious in and of itself. But when paired with the moustache and fedora, it’s a real delight.

I also like how you have a little coffee cup at your side while dismantling everything in your route.

On a more intimate level, a Kayle receives her wings anytime a League player genuinely makes a “Definitely Not” joke in chat. As a result, we must uphold that tradition.

Despite the fact that Definitely Not Vel’Koz doesn’t have any new animations or particles, it’s simply so wacky and charming that I had to include it as a middle-of-the-road choice.

Vel’Koz, Arclight

Arclight Vel’Koz Skin Splash Image from League of LegendsRiot Games is responsible for this image.

The 28th of January, 2015 was the date of publication. 1350 RP is the price.

This is the tryhard skin, for reasons I can’t explain.

If you put this bad boy on, even folks who aren’t Vel’Koz fans will naturally play their hearts out. So be cautious if you encounter one in the wild.

Then then, that’s probably because this skin is by far the most pay-to-win, since your W seems to be much thinner than it really is, and you can even throw in a Q to mislead the opponent.

After all, it’s an Arclight skin. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s that in the pandemonium of a teamfight, Arclight particles are exceedingly easy to overlook.

The character model is adequate, but nothing exceptional.

And the background motion closely resembles your death animations, adding to the sense of immersion.

This skin is a little older than the others, but it has a loyal fanbase. It might be just what you’re searching for if you truly want that additional edge.

Vel’Koz, the Infernal

Infernal Vel’Koz Skin Splash Image from League of LegendsRiot Games is responsible for this image.

On July 16th, 2020, the film will be released. 1350 RP is the price.

Before I say anything else, I just want to emphasize how incredible this splash image is.

Seriously, I’d want to put that up on my wall or something.

And, although the champion model could never live up to the anticipation, I believe it performed a fantastic job overall.

Infernal Vel’Koz is the polar opposite of Battlecast, and he does all he can to make you feel like the sentient eyeball you are, including removing your tentacles and replacing them with chains.

The skin also has a distinct Eye of Sauron theme to it, as well as some amazingly sharp (pun intended) fire particles that truly boost your powers.

It’s also worth noting that this skin provides a metagaming advantage, since the particles for your Q and W are quite similar, allowing you to sneak in some poke on the opponent laner.

Overall, I think the design of this skin is the coolest while still feeling Vel’Koz, which is why I’m proclaiming it as my favorite.
