This week’s wrestling news includes the WWE Network launching in India, a new independent promotion looking for investors to launch pro-wrestling leagues around North America and Japan, potential issues with AIW Pro Wrestling TV show production next month.

As the WWE moves into Monday Night Raw, this week brought in a lot of news. Geeks + Gamers looks back at some of the biggest headlines from last weeks wrestling show. Despite WrestleMania being over, there’s still plenty to talk about in regards to all things professional wrestling.

The “nxt news” is a blog that covers the latest in the world of wrestling. It includes interviews, opinion pieces, and more. The site also has a podcast where they discuss current events in the world of wrestling.

I’m here to talk about wrestling news, outcomes, and events that grab my eye, ear, and occasionally my nose on a Monday, in addition to giving you That’s Not Wrestling and raving about PPVs on YouTube. I’m Danny Damage, and here is Another Week of Wrestling for November 1st, 2021, for Geeks + Gamers!

WWE Raw

The event began with a video package showing Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair discussing difficulty while receiving a lot of attention. Lynch and Belair ended up in a fight as a result of this. Lynch was victorious after revealing a turnbuckle, forcing Belair into it, and rolling her up. Belair completed a large portion of her Cesaro/strong woman spot list, and she performed her gorilla press from the turnbuckle rather than the floor once again. It’s all good.

When Dominic Mysterio responded and struck Theory, Rey Mysterio was disqualified, and Kevin McInterviewer seemed to be paying tribute to Tom Philips’ interview style…

Before Big E joined Seth Rollins in the ring, he revealed his non-Money in the Bank deal. Big E was advised by Seth to simply give him the belt immediately so he could “go back to being a joke with his pals,” which was a fantastic phrase. Rollins was informed by E that he could have his championship bout tonight, but Seth refused. Kevin Owens appeared and challenged Big E to a bout instead. Big E accepted the challenge for a non-title battle.

“Mate, this isn’t high school,” Rhea Ripley stated backstage during a cheesy high school bitchy brat part. You’re so self-aware.

In a non-title match, Zelina Vega and Carmella beat Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley. They’re going all out in letting us know that Cory Graves and Carmella are dating. Vega is still second behind Xavier Woods as this year’s Queen of the Ring, despite her best attempts and fancy accent.

Chad Gable informed Big E backstage that he could have done something to him and his career/persona, similar to what he did with Otis’ comedy tragedy of a shtick. Big E was not impressed.

After that, Chad Gable put on a terrific effort against Finn Balor until Balor no-sold a super-plex and hooked Gable’s legs for the three-count. It was a good contest, but the finale was a snoozer.

After Omos made another diversion, the Dirty Dawgs pinned the Street Profits. The audience looked more interested in RK-commentary Bro’s than what was going on in the ring. Matt Riddle attempted to aid during the thrashing, but he, too, was wrecked by Omos.

I’m not sure whether Damien Priest and M’st’fa Ali are having their hair and make-up done by the same person backstage, or if they’re doing each other’s, but they seem similar now… only bigger/smaller. Priest won a no-disqualification fight against T-Bar, and Apollo Crews, with his terrible phony accent, presented himself to the U.S. champion. Apollo predicted that he will meet Priest again soon.

John Morrison was meditating one again when he was interrupted by the 24/7 title’s nonsense.

Becky Lynch defended her actions earlier in the night, claiming that Bianca Belair is now at the back of the line. Becky moved away as Liv Morgen appeared on television.

Kevin Owens smelled Seth Rollins’ snake oil a mile away and informed him he didn’t want or need his assistance.

During the Big E vs. Kevin Owens main event, Seth Rollins strutted down to ringside. Seth cheap-shotted Big E and walked away while the referee was turned. Owens tried for a pin after E and Owens had just collided heads, and Owens appeared uncertain of what had just occurred, thus he was rolled up himself. Owens attempted to apologize to Big E after the bout, claiming that his brain was foggy and he wasn’t sure what had transpired. Owens challenged Rollins to a fight the next week, but Big E won by KO with a Big Ending.

NXT 3.0

Last week, Mandy Rose was the topic of the internet, so NXT kicked off with her showing off her new belt. Rose responded to the supporters’ “You deserve it” chant with the classic “I don’t need your approval/validation” line; excellent. Toxic Attraction’s other members were in the locker room, attempting to eliminate Zoey Stark. Rose is challenged by Io Shirai. The challenge was accepted, but before the rest of Toxic Attraction stepped in, Rose smacked Io with a cheap shot and knocked her about for a while. The Ninja Midget and Kayden Carter came to the rescue.

Dakota Kai admitted to Mandy Rose that she didn’t get involved with the situation last week to aid Rose, but rather to put a stop to Raquel Gonzalez.

This week, Cameron Grimes visited Duke Hudson’s Poker Room. The program was peppered with these cheesy comic bits.

Cora “No, it isn’t Blink 182’s ‘Dammit.’” Dakota vs. Jade Kai. Kai wins with a big rushing kick to the face. Kai considered hitting Jade with a table after the contest, but she decided against it. I’d always thought Kai was brilliant at projecting instability, and based on her facial expressions, tics, and inner monologues, I wouldn’t rule out a hawk blade in one of her boots.

MSK were sitting at a bus stop for whatever reason and missed their bus because they were too busy arguing with each other. Instead, they chose to walk to their destination. I’m crossing my fingers that they’re attempting to return to Impact Wrestling.

Robert Stone made a spectacle of himself singing and dancing in the ring, which Xyon Quinn saw. Quinn then began singing and dancing to Shawn Michael’s theme song in response for some reason. Terrible. It ultimately became a match, and Quinn dispatched Stone with ease. Did they start promoting Quinn and then drop him when the third Uso was signed? “Make this person a Samoan in a suit to look at; he looks nothing like Slimoa Joe.”

Joe Gacy slammed social media and declared that he would alter the world.

Legado Del Fantasma vs. Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner Legado won it thanks to shenanigans and a Wagner rollup.

Carmello Hayes and Trick Williams sought to put the incident at Dexter Lumis’ haunted home last week behind them. Please don’t walk it all over my wrestling news and results, boys; there’s still a lot of it on both of your shoes.

Cameron Grimes performed a second video in which he pretended to be terrible at poker. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough, and the story had to be continued.

Andre Chase was enraged when someone on social media labelled him a coward, so he issued an open challenge. Bron Breakker took the call and quickly wrecked Chase’s life.

Imperium performed “live” in the backstage area, bringing us another edition of “Psychic Subtitles.”

Lash Legend and Tony D’Angelo are two nobodys attempting to convince one other and the rest of the world that they’re important. Two dreadful individuals.

Jeet Rama vs. Slimoa Joe Uso For the victory, make a splash from the top. Over and over again, it’s Groundhog Day. It’s erratic and meaningless.

Boa vs. Grayson Waller During the bout, LA Knight was on commentary, and he kept Waller busy long enough for Boa to knock him out and win.

Cameron Grimes disgraced himself and Duke Hudson, but at least it’s done… for now.

Tommaso Ciampa strolled out and went through all of the title changes from the previous week, emphasizing that he successfully defended his championship. With catchphrases and buzzwords, Camello Hayes and Trick Williams interrupted him; yawn. How can I take someone seriously if they don’t even try to talk in a mature manner? You’re not going to get anything nice out of my wrestling news stories if they act like this. Seriously, this duo transforms Eugene into a Shakespearean hero. Ciampa jabbed Williams, who began dancing about, and they both backed away from Ciampa. As Ciampa walked away, Johnny Gargano arrived and they exchanged a scowl.

Carmello Hayes & Trick Williams vs. Johnny Gargano & Dexter Lumis Lumis’ extraordinary ability to convert anybody around him into a clown was obvious from the start. Hayes and Williams both exaggerated their fear of Lumis creeping about. They pinned Lumis after some devious double-teaming behind the referee’s back, which included Williams removing his shoe and smacking him in the head.

AEW Dynamite is a brand of explosives developed by AEW.

Oooof! After getting fans acclimated to hearing CM Punk or Bryan Danielson’s music at the start of an AEW show, Booker of the Year Tony Khan decided that opening Dynamite with the visual stink that is Kenny Omega would be a good idea.

Also, although the news of Jon Moxley’s rehab is really sad, ExcaliBORE talking about it on Dynamite isn’t the right time or place for it. Before the matter became viral, the announcement was made, and well-wishes were given. I’m going to assume Tony Khan/AEW had more to do with this issue than they’d want you to know if they keep pushing too hard to demonstrate how fantastic they are at repairing it. There are no limits in AEW, which is a problem for some individuals. This isn’t the first time I’ve brought it up.

Alan Angels vs. Kenny Omega Omega and his dog-agility-show kind of performance were well received by the audience, but I’m not sure how many people watching at home would feel the same way. I’ve had good luck with the ratings in the past, and I doubt it will be any different this time. “Welcome to our show; it took our champion this long to defeat some modern-day Job Squad trash.” Then Omega made a little commercial… how humiliating. Adam Page, the “Hangman,” arrived just in time to stop Omega from utilizing a chair, but the TV broadcast missed Page dumping Michael Nakazawa without stopping his stride, and Omega bolted.

“UP NEXT: CM PUNK!” says the announcer. That first match elicited a stronger emotion than anything else.

Cody Rhodes was warned by Malakai Black about being deceived. Malakai should definitely caution Cody about pretending like spending a summer with Nick Aldis and booking himself in AEW for two years makes him the John Cena of non-WWE wrestling, but I doubt we’d see even that much self-awareness.

The CM Punk image is shown once again to ensure that viewers do not tune out and seek out some wet paint to watch, and suddenly CM Punk arrives. Punk expressed his admiration for Jon Moxley, and the audience began screaming Moxley’s name instead of his own. He then goes on to talk about Eddie Kingston interrupting him the week before, but Kingston isn’t present today. Punk finished by requesting an apology at Rampage on Friday. I’m not worried by Punk’s reference to Aldous Huxley since it comes off as genuine. Excalibore’s delivery of the philanthropy industry’s usual “thoughts and prayers” line to the celebrity comes off as just as phony as any of WWE’s synthetic platitudes.

Miro did another ad on his God, this time speculating on whether his presence in the championship tournament was due to Miro’s assistance or play with him.

The Jungle House Party and NWO4Kids had a backstage battle that spilled onto the stadium. Christian Cage and two chairs splashed Adam Cole’s head in the last scene.

FTR vs. Samuray Del Sol and Aero Star Samuray Del Sol is Kalisto, if the “Lucha-Lucha” chorus and finger-pointing didn’t give it away. I simply made the Jurassic Express House Party joke; I had no idea Kalisto was going to be on the program. Aero Star is someone I’ve never seen before; he almost killed himself a couple times throughout the match by diving, so it may be one of the Sin Caras. This match had much too much foolishness for my taste. The referee insisted on palm-to-palm tags one minute and then watched the Luchas swap without tagging the next. I wish people would quit allowing this nonsense; it’s not helping FTR’s image. With a rollup and a hand on the rope, Cash Wheeler won the contest for them.

As Chris Jericho waddled down to the ring with the Inner Circle, Excalib-whore connected everything on his gimmick table. Before Jericho could finish his series of cheap pops, Dan Lambert called out American Top Team. Lambert’s tempo, timing, and breathing are still a work in progress, but his delivery is improving. At the very least, he did a fantastic job highlighting his teammates. Paige Van Zant, who had threatened to beat up Jericho, also wanted in on the action. Jericho obviously made a sexist comment about her and chose Lambert as the fifth guy.

Matt Sydal flaunted the fact that he, too, had a black buddy and that he isn’t envious of Dante Martin and Leo Rush’s friendship. This is an odd part.

Jamie Hayter vs. Anna Jay in the Host Title match. After some outside diversions, Hayter triumphed, and the group went on to beat Jay down. Tai Conti made the save (somehow) with some of the ugliest forearm strikes I’ve seen in a long time, and Thunder Rosa even came up to make it a 3-on-3 situation.

Jade Cargill and Double H both said that it doesn’t matter who she meets in the Hos tournament’s next round; she’ll simply crush everyone.

MJF entered the ring and addressed Darby Allin, who was in the audience. “You’re like them – an incel who can barely piece together four sentences,” he said, as he often does to the audience and Darby. Darby attempted to talk, but sounded like he’d been overmedicated during a manic episode; maybe he should ask Sting for some sedatives. Most likely, no one ever urged Allin to “use your big-boy voice” when he was younger, and now we’re stuck with this uncomfortable situation. In contrast, MJF is a gold statue on fire in the foyer of AEW.

When I first watched Cody’s extravagant entrance, I assumed it was Andrade El Idolo vs. Cody HemorRhodes, but then I realized that Cody likes himself so much that he probably has his home doors rigged to duplicate his entrance every time he enters a room. The audience wasn’t as hostile to Cody as it had been in prior years, but it was close to being one-sided. FTR was hidden underneath the ring, and they used their championship belts to cuff Cody. To achieve the three-count, Andrade didn’t even have to hook a leg. The Lucha Brothers went down to frighten FTR away before Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson began throwing hands.

Tony Schiavone spoke with John Silver, who said that he would beat Adam Cole on Rampage.

Orange Cassidy vs. Miro In the final tournament, Miro replaced Jon Moxley, and he tapped Cassidy the fuck out. As the program went off the air, Bryan Danielson and Miro locked gazes.

“Stupid baseball is finished!” exclaims the announcer. Pat McAfee is a computer security expert.

The Bloodline strutted out as The Usos and The New Day were recapped. Roman Reigns was in a poor man’s The Rock mode this week, rather than the largest Uso mode. Reigns interrogated Paul Heyman about what occurred last week; Heyman mistookly assumed he was talking to the interview in which Heyman seemed too enthusiastic about Brock Lesnar, but Reigns was referring about The Usos’ loss against The New Day. Drunky Uso was asked what he would do to make up after getting pinned last week by Reigns. The New Day scurried away, attempting to be hilarious. Drunky was challenged to a match by Xavier Woods afterwards.

Shayna Baszler vs. Naomi Naomi won with a fast roll-up, but Sonya Deville marched out and resumed the contest. The Kirifuda Clutch was locked in by Baszler, and the referee called it.

Ridge Holland reflected on some of his best Sheamus memories.

Backstage, Shitzi Wetfart gave a heel promo, claiming she’s had it with playing nice and losing… just in case the “daddy” collar she wore around her neck didn’t tell it all.

Cesaro & Mansoor were beaten by Los Lotharios.

Drew McIntyre’s open kilt challenge was met with a smack in the face from Ricochet. For whatever reason, M’st’fa Ali was granted a short but full-screen interview halfway through the contest. Claymore is the best.

More ridiculous New Day faces/voices, and Kofi Kingston may whine all he wants about his Jamaican accent and being held back, but he still chooses to joke around when given the chance.

When M’st’fa Ali sought to be Ricochet’s tag partner in the locker room, Ricochet called him a whiner and a jerk.

The Viking Raiders were guests on “Happy Talk” with Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss for some reason. The Raiders claimed they don’t participate in silly comedic routines and dismissed the awful series they did with the Street Profits a year or two ago. This resulted in a fight between the four of them, from which Corbin and Moss rushed away and were counted out.

Sami Zayn attempted to join Hit Row as a substitute fourth member, but the three mocked him.

The main event featured Drunky Uso vs. Xavier Woods. If Uso loses, he must kneel in front of Woods. If Woods loses, he’ll have to submit to Roman Reigns. After the Usos attempted to take it, Woods rolled Drunky up. Reigns emerged just as Xavier was about to bow his knees, and Superman punched the crown off his head. As SmackDown went off the air, they just pummeled The New Day into oblivion.

Rampage of the AEW

The Acclaimed, who has been having a number of conflicts with Tony Khan, who has said that he would not be an on-screen presence in any form, was given the first contest as a punishment. The silver lining to this cloud was that on his approach to the ring, Max Caster got to spew a superb promo in front of the eyes of his opponent in the opening bout. Also, when Bryan Danielson enters an AEW ring, does he always give Justin Robert’s tie a quick squeeze? He did that today, and it made me laugh out loud.

Anthony Bowens vs. Bryan Danielson This was a great way to start the competition. Bowens received some on-the-job instruction while playing his finest singles match to date. Max Caster was excellent on the outside, trying to assist Bowens earn the victory, and he performed good in there with Bryan. Bowens was forced to tap out by the Labell Lock in the end.

For employing FTR’s services, Andrade El Idolo offered MJF a few more envelopes full of cash. Pac was then dubbed a “little British bitch.”

Eddie Kingston was welcomed to “his” ring by CM Punk, however Kingston did not show up when his music started playing. I have no idea what’s going on with these two. They’re clearly going for the angle of Eddie interrupting Punk’s interview, but it was a bit odd in there. Kingston mumbled something that didn’t make sense for a long before saying that he missed Dynamite because of Covid. Punk accused Kingston of making excuses and blaming others before calling him a jerk. Eddie challenged Punk to a Full Gear bout, but Punk declined, claiming that Dark Elevation was more his speed. Punk was ultimately persuaded to accept the challenge, and a swarm of officials had to rush out and separate them.

The Elite and their “little Cirque du Soleil flips” were mocked by Christian Cage and the Jurassic House Party.

Excalibore screamed ticket information over the action during the following match. I’ve previously complained about how this ruins what we’re trying to see in my wrestling news and a That’s Not Wrestling piece. As Taz ordered an exchange and then a pinfall attempt, he had no trouble instructing him to “hold on a minute” twice. Excalibore sprinted through the remainder of his script at quadruple speed with his tail between his legs once Taz finished. So far, he’s been permitted to plow through everything and everything, and he’s done a great job.

Red Velvet vs. The Bunny Everyone, there’s good news! After SUCCESSFULLY HITTING HER FINISH, Red Velvet WON THE MATCH! She hasn’t been practicing her moon sault and has only managed to land it twice; she’s switched to something else.

When you consider everything else that surrounds these two and their groups, Adam Cole vs. John Silver wasn’t as ludicrous as you may think. Cole finished Silver with The Last Shot after Silver had a good match with the veteran.
