Guardians of the Galaxy Devs Have No Regrets over Its Sales Performance
Sony’s latest Marvel film was an unexpected hit, but the studio has no regrets over its sales performance. The superhero movie became a new franchise and is set to open in China this weekend.
The “Guardians of the Galaxy Devs Have No Regrets over Its Sales Performance” is a story about how the developers behind Guardians of the Galaxy are not regretful over its sales performance. They believe that it was worth it to make such an amazing game.

The Guardians of the Galaxy game did not become a blockbuster, despite the success of its heroes on the big screen. However, roughly six months after its introduction, the creators believe it is gaining traction. Eurogamer spoke with Eidos-Montréal developers about how they don’t regret the game’s sales success.
“I don’t have any regrets.” We tried all we could, but the market is what it is… Not to mention the fact that it’s a brand-new IP. Despite the fact that we claim “all Guardians [of the Galaxy] are recognized,” it is still a fresh IP [in the video game business]. It’s possible that many individuals are unaware that the game is available or are unsure of what it is.”
Dugas, Jean-Francois (Senior Creative Director)
Dugas believes the game is performing well due to positive word of mouth and the fact that it is available on Xbox/PC Game Pass. He joked that the team hoped to “sell billions,” but recognized it wouldn’t be easy. The inclusion of the game on Games Pass, according to Mary DeMarle (Senior Narrative Director), is beneficial to the game.
“What I like about it right now is that people are playing it and sharing their experiences, particularly with Games Pass.”
The game did not reach Square Enix’s sales objectives, according to the company. When asked whether there would be a sequel, Dugas stated he had ideas for the characters but that the crew is taking it easy for now.
“Right now, we’re not talking about the future because when we finish a project, it’s time to tear it down, wrap it up, and go on vacation.” So, I assume we’ll find out what we’re going to work on next in the next months or years, so we’ll see.”
The crew is sorry to see the characters depart, but they are intrigued to see what happens next.
“I’ll admit that while working on the game, these characters grew on me and the writing team. When they were completed, we were sorry to say farewell. But, you know, now we’re watching what’s going on in the globe.”
