Gotham Knights Playtest Briefly Listed on Steam, Could Release This Month
New York-based developer Gotham Knights is releasing their first game, a multiplayer arena shooter called “Fly or Die,” this month on Steam. The game will be released as an open beta and available for free to anyone that preorders it through the company’s website.

A playtest for the forthcoming Gotham Knights game emerged on Steam for a short time. It was eventually taken down, but not before one fortunate individual had a chance to play it. SuspiciousTension19, a Reddit member, discovered it and reported that the basic install size was 82.41 GB. It is unknown who attempted to play the beta.

The playtest is still available on SteamDB, despite the fact that the official Steam listing has vanished. Unfortunately, the install button simply leads you to the game’s main page on Steam, thus the database listing is now only a reference page. A caution about the software being hidden from the public was also added to Steam’s website.

There’s no official indication on when the game will be released, but based on this and the plot trailer, as well as frequent updates on the Steam app, it might be very soon. Last year, developer WB Games Montreal said that Gotham Knights will be delayed until 2022, but it hasn’t mentioned anything since. However, a photo of a placeholder box from an international gaming shop was recently circulated on social media. The game will be launched on March 24th, according to the information. Although that date isn’t difficult to accept, it would be strange given the lack of preorders and the fact that the release date is just a few weeks away.
