The article’s substance

With today’s release of Fallout 76’s newest update, Halloween has arrived in Appalachia. Over the following two weeks, go on a quest for Spooky Scorched, go trick-or-treating at other people’s C.A.M.P.s, and hand out candy from your own house. Continue reading to learn more.

Highlights from the most recent update

  • Scorched in Costume: Some Scorched are enjoying Halloween by donning costumes and dropping unusual treasure!
  • To complete Challenges and receive prizes, claim a free Spooky Candy Bowl from the Atomic Shop, set it in your C.A.M.P., and fill it with Mystery Candy for trick-or-treaters.
  • Trick-or-Treat in Appalachia: Dress up in your favorite costume and gather Mystery Candy from other players’ C.A.M.Ps to get more Challenge points.

Version 1.6.1.18 has been updated.

Check out the following download sizes for today’s patch on your preferred platform:

  • 2.3 GB (Bethesda.net) PC
  • 2.2 GB (Microsoft Store) for PC
  • 9.3 GB (Steam) PC
  • 9.2 GB PlayStation
  • 8.8 GB Xbox

The Spooky Scorched Have Arrived!

Halloween is almost approaching, and some Scorched are getting into the mood by donning their finest festive garb as they stalk through Appalachia! It’s time to embark on the search from now until November 2 if you see “Spooky Scorched” or hear their spine-chilling seasonal noises while out on your excursions.

  • Spooky Scorched will spawn as 1, 2, or 3-star legendaries, which means that every time you kill one, you’ll get a legendary item.
  • You’ll also get a Spooky Treat Bag, which you may open for consumables, ammunition, and a chance to win some Halloween-themed Plans.
  • Finally, you’ll get a piece of Mystery Candy, which you may consume to get one of five random bonuses, such as stat increases or Nukashine-like effects.
    • TIP: While it may be tempting to consume all of your Mystery Candy right once, you should save a few pieces so that you may participate in this year’s Trick-or-Treating event (more on that below).
  • Please keep in mind that, similar to the Holiday Scorched, Spooky Scorched will not spawn inside any interiors.

Treats or Tricks!

This Halloween, the Scorched won’t be the only ones haunting the Wasteland! You may dress up in costume and go trick-or-treating around Appalachia with your friends from now until November 2, and you can even give out candy to trick-or-treaters who come to your house. You’ll be able to collect prizes by completing new trick-or-treating Challenges along the road.

Trick-or-Treaters should be given candy.
  • Before November 2, go to the Atomic Shop and get a free Spooky Candy Bowl, which you can create in your C.A.M.P. and fill with Mystery Candy for trick-or-treaters to enjoy.
    • Mystery Candy may be looted from Spooky Scorched or purchased with Caps from train station merchants around Appalachia.
    • TIP: Make sure your Spooky Candy Bowl is visible in your C.A.M.P. so trick-or-treaters can discover it.
    • It’s also worth noting that Spooky Candy Bowls aren’t allowed inside Shelters.
  • Once you’ve placed Mystery Candy to your Spooky Candy Bowl, your C.A.M.P. will show a pumpkin symbol on the Map, indicating that other Dwellers are welcome to pop by for a treat.
    • If your candy bowl is empty, the pumpkin symbol for your C.A.M.P. will cease displaying until you replenish it.
    • There’s no need to worry about anybody taking more than their fair share of candy from your candy bowl since each trick-or-treater may only take one piece every hour.
  • You will get Daily and Weekly Challenges to hand out sweets throughout the following two weeks, which you may complete to earn prizes!
    • You may earn a consumable item, a Perk Card Pack, a Lunchbox, a Repair Kit, or some S.C.O.R.E. by completing Daily Challenges.
    • Weekly challenges to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters may earn you S.C.O.R.E., rare crafting materials, and even Halloween outfits. You’ll get a new Popcorn Machine for your C.A.M.P. if you complete both Weekly Challenges!
Embark on a Candy Hunt!
  • It’s time to dust out your best costume, gather a few pals, and make room in your pack for lots of candy, because it’s trick or treating time in the Wasteland!
    • Open the Map and look for C.A.M.P.s with a pumpkin symbol, which means that the owner has a Spooky Candy Bowl full of Mystery Candy.
  • You’ll get a new Daily Challenge to trick or treat at other Dwellers’ C.A.M.P.s every day until November 2nd.
    • Completing each trick-or-treating Daily, similar to the candy-giving Daily Challenges, will win you one of many goodies, including consumables, a Perk Card Pack, Lunchbox, Repair Kit, or some S.C.O.R.E.
  • If you want to get Challenge credit, make sure you’re wearing a costume when you take Mystery Candy from someone else’s Spooky Candy Bowl.
    • There are a multitude of costume possibilities accessible in-game, including those found throughout your travels, Unstoppables-themed rank-up awards from the Season 6 Scoreboard, and costumes purchased at the Atomic Shop.
