E3 2022 Fully Canceled: Neither Digital nor Physical Events Are Happening
E3, the long-running gaming conference and trade show that has been taking place annually since 1995 is unlikely to take place in 2022. The decision was made following mounting financial losses over several years.
The upcoming year will be one of transition for the industry, with 2019 representing a significant opportunity to evaluate how companies approach new models going forward.,
In addition to E3 being canceled in 2022, there are also potential changes coming up on other big events like Ubisoft’s annual game convention Gamescom.
The “e3 2022 cancelled” is a news story that has been circulating the internet for some time. It is said that E3 will not be happening in 2022 and it has been fully canceled.

It’s a bad that the ESA had to cancel E3 2022’s in-person event earlier this year owing to pandemic fears, but at least the expo will return in a digital version. Oh, well, that’s been canceled as well. The organizers of the trade show have delivered a statement to IGN confirming that E3 2022 has been totally canceled, after a tweet from Razer PR man Will Powers, who first broke the news. However, it will return in 2023 with “a revitalized display.” But, wait, does anybody still care about E3?
The ESA said, “We will focus all of our work and resources to creating a rejuvenated physical and digital E3 experience next summer.” “The 2023 showcase will bring the community, media, and industry back together in an all-new style and interactive experience, whether experienced on the exhibition floor or on your preferred devices.”
“In 2023, we look forward to bringing E3 to fans all across the globe live from Los Angeles.”
I just received an email… It’s official: E3 digital has been postponed till 2022. There are a lot of conflicting sentiments regarding this…

E3 2022 — Both Digital and Physical – Has Been Cancelled Officially (IGN)
After having no event in 2020 owing to COVID-19, the ESA had planned for an in-person E3 event this year and a digital one in 2021. The ESA was unable to make a public declaration on whether or not there would be a digital counterpart at the moment, hence the project was discontinued in January. According to insiders who spoke to IGN at the time, conversations for E3 had been tense all year, with third parties that were regularly engaged finding the ESA’s continued quiet on their intentions aggravating.
According to sources close to the event, conversations regarding a potential digital version have continued since then, although without much traction. Instead, the ESA seems to be regrouping in preparation for a bigger return in 2023.
The 2022 exhibition has been canceled, according to the ESA, so that the organization may “concentrate its efforts” on the 2023 event.
