Candice is a character in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. She’s the Gym Leader of Mahogany Town, and she’ll test your skills with her Pokemon. If you’re struggling to beat her, we’ve got some tips for you.

Candice is the Gym Leader of Laverre City and is one of the most difficult gym challenges. The player must use Trump Card to beat her in order for them to continue on their journey, but they may want tips before using this move just in case.

In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the Gym in Snowpoint City ups the ante in terms of puzzle and fight complexity. Gym Leader Candice, for example, will have more Pokémon than in previous gyms. Because you’ll most likely be disappointed by the length of time it takes to get the gym badge, a few basic strategies should help speed things up.

What is the solution to the Snowpoint City Gym puzzle?

When you go inside the gym, you’ll see big snowballs strewn everywhere. Your goal will be to demolish the snowballs in the middle to make a forward passage to Candice, albeit it isn’t stated explicitly. The fastest method to achieve this is to circle the gym’s outer corners and keep to the snow grids that are parallel to the horizontal lines of snowballs.

Slide into a row of snowballs while on the snow-covered panel, then repeat the process two more times to complete the remaining rows. Because each of Candice’s gym members turns their body every 15 seconds, it is possible to dodge all of Candice’s gym members while doing this.

Slide to the front wall of the gym and return to the entrance after each row has been demolished. You should have an open, direct shot to Candice from there.

Candice will undoubtedly put up a fight, since she has four Pokémon in her party, none of which are Ice types. Snover (Lv. 38), Sneasel (Lv. 38), Medicham (Lv. 40), and Abomasnow (Lv. 40) are the Pokémon introduced in this sequence (Lv. 42). Fortunately, most of them share the same vulnerabilities as Byron’s former gym leader’s Pokémon. This implies you should keep any Fighting, Fire, Rock, or Steel Pokémon in your party for this battle.

Medicham, a Fighting and Psychic-type Pokémon, is the most troublesome of the lot. If your Pokémon and it have comparable or lower levels, techniques like Medicham’s Brick Break and Ice Punch are likely to finish them out with only one critical hit.

You’ll need to journey into the Grand Underground from Pastoria City to discover a dominating Fire Pokémon up to this point. The Volcanic Cave is one of the Underground Hideaways you’ll come across, and it’s full with Magby ready to battle. Trainers will see that the Pokémon has learnt Fire Punch, Flame Wheel, and Ember if captured at Level 28 or above, all of which are quite powerful against Candice’s Ice Pokémon.

Machoke is maybe the best Pokémon to take on practically every Pokémon in this gym. The Fighting-type, which is common on Mt. Coronet, has a number of attacks, such as Vital Throw, that establish their effectiveness in Snowpoint City. Even better, Machoke is permitted to learn Fire Blast and Flamethrower, making him the ideal replacement for Chimchar.

Because Medicham is unaffected by Fire and Fighting-type techniques, you’ll need your own Ice Pokémon to deal with it effectively. A group of Ice-types may be found in the wild at Acuity Lakefront, south of Snowpoint Lake. Snover is the most prevalent, and it should be in the mid-30s when discovered. When fighting Candice, make advantage of Snover’s Icy Wind and Ice Shard abilities for devastating blows.
