A new season is coming and with it, like always, new players. Let’s give them some tips! Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 will arrive real soon, and what better way to start the season off than going over the basics and talking about some of what might be coming in this exciting new phase! Before we get to it. If you ever find yourself wanting to start playing the game and want a specific skin that’s very rare or just straight-up not coming back to the store ever. Or maybe you want to have a specific rank or level. You should consider looking into purchasing Fortnite accounts. That way, you can play the game in whichever way you feel most comfortable.

Summary

Fortnite’s battle royale mode released back in 2017 and has been a massive success for Epic games ever since. 100 players drop into an ever shrinking map and only one player, or team, can win. Each season brings its own changes to core mechanics as well as changes to the map, weapons, and content for its other game modes. With its 6th chapter getting to its 2nd season, you can probably assume that the game is vastly different from when it came out. Such as its new parkour mechanics changed the way you approach exploring.

Starting The Game

So, you’re on the battle bus and choosing where to land. Telling you places to land would date this article as each season brings changes to the maps and, with it, where landing is popular or not. Regardless of where to land, with other people around or not, the first actions you take are incredibly important. Most people run towards a chest, but keen eyed players will sometimes notice there are weapons of very low rarity around the map just laying about! It’s highly recommended to always pick up a weapon before starting to open chests. Say you and another player landed somewhere, odds are the player is going to go run to a nearby chest to get a weapon to take you out. For some reason, most players just avoid white-rarity weapons, so just take that and then take that player out while he opens the chest! Easy-peasy.

Ammo

Some players will ignore ammo crates, those green rectangular boxes that mostly carry ammo, sometimes a support item like a shield potion or a shockwave grenade. Some people ignore these and mostly depend on the players they eliminate having the ammo they need.
Or maybe you’re playing with friends and there’s always the one that’s asking for ammo of some type. It’s better to have too many than too few, so pay attention and look for these boxes!

Sound

In this game, it’s very important to keep track of sound cues to know what’s around you. Whether it’s someone running about or a certain kind of item being used, being aware of the surrounding sounds is essential. If you’re having trouble with following sounds, whether it’s because you’re in a call with your buddies or any other possibility, Fortnite has a very handy tool to help you. Navigate to the options menu and into the sound tab, and you’ll find an option called “Visualize sound effects” enabling this will alert you of any sounds by showing you a radial HUD element around your character. Be it healing, shooting, rebooting or just moving around, you will be able to see it instead of hearing it. A lot of players have this very helpful accessibility feature on to help them in the game. Give it a try!

Sorting inventory

This is more of a niche tip I’m about to give you, but it’s one that can save you time regardless! There’s a very handy option in the combat tab of the settings menu that allows you to customize your preferred item slots. This will make it so that any time you pick up a specific weapon type, it’s auto assigned to whichever key you find more comfortable. Say you want assault rifles on 1, SMGs on 2, shotguns on 3 and snipers on 4. You can make it so that any time you pick up a weapon, it goes to those keys immediately, saving you the trouble of pressing the inventory weapon and manually adjusting it to your preferences. You can also make it so that any consumable you pick up goes to the rightmost slot, saving the left ones for the guns! Very specific tip, but again, will save you time if you’re looting a player in a hot zone!

Keep track of updates

Fortnite is an ever-changing game. Never staying in one state for too long before doing some radical change. And even when the waters are calm, they will update the game with buffs and nerfs to the various new things they add.

Chapter 6 season 1 was all about techno samurai stuff, with cool bikes to ride and katanas to wield, and then at one point there was an event where you could transform into Godzilla and bring chaos to the map. These aren’t rare occurrences in this game. It’s wild and unpredictable. This is why I highly recommend looking up Fortnite news whenever an update happens, or you’ll miss out on important changes to the game’s meta!

Building

The building mechanic in Fortnite has a very high skill ceiling. Meaning that, if you know your stuff, there’s a lot you can do that newer players just won’t be able to catch up with. Personally I recommend starting by playing a few matches of “zero build” which is the exact same game without the building mechanic, get accustomed to the other mechanics and game feel and then if you feel ready get back into building mode. Some of the best players reside in this mode, and it feels completely different, in the way that you approach encounters and in the way that you explore. Maybe you don’t even like building that much, and you stick to zero build, that’s fine as well! Building was a pretty controversial mechanic in the game, and once they made it optional it opened the doors to a lot of casual and competitive players, so just play however you prefer!.

In Conclusion

Fortnite is a wild game. It warps and transforms into different things so often, It’s hard to keep up. But that same method of keeping the game fresh is what makes players from all around the world come back to it. Even if it’s not just for the Battle Royale now you have festival, Lego modes and “ballistic”, Fortnite’s new competitive mode. So it’s very hard to download Fortnite not have fun. Try it out!
