God of War Gets a Sharpening Slider for NVIDIA DLSS

God of War has been one of the biggest gaming successes in recent years, but it’s not without its share of criticism. A new update recently released for God of War deploys NVIDIA DLSS technology on PC to give an edge over other graphics cards when playing at 4K and higher resolutions with a high-quality slider that adjusts detail levels from low to ultra depending on what you want out each frame.

God of War gets a “dlss sharpening filter” for NVIDIA DLSS. This is a new feature that will allow players to sharpen the image quality in God of War.

Santa Monica Studio has published a new patch for God of War’s PC adaptation, which includes not just a number of bug patches but also a welcome addition to the ultimate edition of the action-adventure game.

For God of War’s implementation of DLSS, one of them is the inclusion of a sharpening slider, which allows players to modify the clarity of the picture created by NVIDIA’s supersampling technique. Players who complained about graphical flaws caused by DLSS’ automatic sharpening inspired the implementation of the slider. Even though sharpening can’t be turned off, even when the slider is set to zero, Santa Monica Studio has stated that further enhancements are on the way.

God of War players should no longer encounter difficulties such as graphics driver crashes and display setting glitches, as well as VRAM being improperly identified on Intet’s XE platform, thanks to the updates. Santa Monica Studio also fixed a problem where controls would cease functioning if the inventory menu was viewed while traveling between realms.

Notes about the Patch

Fixes

  • If Atreus becomes unresponsive, he will now be reset upon a restart from a checkpoint or saved game.
  • There were a few instances of graphics driver crashes that were fixed.
  • On the Intel XE platform, a problem with inaccurate VRAM detection was fixed.
  • When restoring display settings to default on an ultrawide monitor, the display mode option would appear set to windowed mode.
  • When accessing inventory during the realm transit phase, the control capability was lost.
  • A problem that may happen when the client was shut down has been fixed.

Features

  • Support for the DLSS Sharpening slider has been added.

“Enjoy genuine 4K resolution on compatible platforms with unlocked framerates for optimal performance,” the PC port’s upgraded graphics are described as. “Choose from a variety of graphical presets and options, such as better resolution shadows, enhanced screen space reflections, the inclusion of GTAO and SSDO, and more.”
